Fortinet establece la Política del ciclo de vida de sus productos. De particular importancia para los clientes de Fortinet son los tres hitos del ciclo de vida del producto por los que pasa cada producto de Fortinet antes de llegar al final de su ciclo de vida:

Importante: los productos FortiGate Serie F y unos pocos de la serie E no tienen fecha de End-of-Life (EOL) definida por Fortinet aún.

Fecha de finalización del pedido (EOO – End of Order Date ): la fecha de finalización del pedido es la última fecha en la que se puede solicitar un producto de hardware o software; después de esta fecha, el producto ya no está disponible para la venta. Fortinet notificará con un mínimo de noventa días de anticipación la fecha de EOO del producto afectado mediante la publicación de una notificación de EOL.
Última fecha de extensión del servicio (LSED – Last Service Extension Date): la última fecha en la que se aceptará un pedido, para un producto que ya no está disponible para su compra, para una extensión de un contrato existente para servicios de suscripción de soporte o seguridad. Ningún contrato de servicio puede extenderse más allá de la fecha de EOS. La última fecha de extensión del servicio es 12 meses antes de la fecha de EOS para el producto relevante.
Fecha de finalización del soporte (EOS – End of Support Date): el hito final en el ciclo de vida del producto es la fecha de finalización del soporte. Después de esta fecha, Fortinet no venderá, fabricará ni mejorará el producto y no tiene la obligación de brindar servicios de soporte. En general, la EOS para hardware tiene lugar 60 meses después de la fecha de finalización del pedido.

Software Support Policy

This Software Support Policy applies to any and all software produced and / or sold
by Fortinet, covering firmware for appliances and applications («Software») installed
on customer owned systems.

Fortinet will provide Engineering Software support for thirty six (36) months from the
GA release date of the major or minor release. Fortinet will also provide «Must Fix»
support for an additional eighteen (18) months from the End of Engineering Support date
for software which was supported on or released after August 1, 2015. «Software Releases»
constitute either major or minor version increments and support is provided on the latest
patch release of each version.
