El FortiGate 401E LENC (FG-401E-LENC) es la variante de baja encripción del FortiGate 401E. Comparte el mismo appliance rack 1U: ASICs NP6 y CP9, 18 puertos GE RJ45 (16 de switch más MGMT y HA), 16 slots GE SFP —la densidad de fibra más alta de la serie 400E— y 2 discos SSD de 240 GB integrados para logging local. La diferencia está en un solo plano: las funcionalidades de cifrado fuerte de VPN (IPsec y SSL-VPN con algoritmos robustos tipo AES-256) vienen restringidas de fábrica, para cumplir con las regulaciones de exportación y de telecomunicaciones de ciertos mercados.
En un 401E LENC la restricción vive únicamente en el plano de VPN. Todo lo demás opera igual que en el 401E estándar: los 16 puertos GE RJ45 acelerados por NP6, los 16 slots GE SFP que permiten terminar fibra de varios edificios o segmentos sin switches intermedios, los puertos dedicados de MGMT y HA, y los 2 discos SSD de 240 GB que retienen logs, generan reportes locales y habilitan caché de WAN Optimization sin depender de un FortiAnalyzer. La inspección de seguridad tampoco se toca: IPS de 7.8 Gbps, anti-malware, control de aplicaciones a 12 Gbps, filtrado web/DNS/video y SD-WAN funcionan sin recorte alguno. Lo que no obtienes es el túnel IPsec o SSL-VPN con encripción fuerte: el equipo puede levantar túneles, pero sin la protección criptográfica completa de la versión estándar. Si tu diseño depende de VPN site-to-site cifrada, el modelo correcto es el FortiGate 401E.

El 401E LENC comparte hardware, puertos, SSD y rendimiento de inspección con el FortiGate 401E estándar: 32 Gbps de firewall, 7.8 Gbps de IPS y 5 Gbps de threat protection en ambos. Lo único que cambia es el cifrado de VPN. Si tu red necesita túneles IPsec o SSL-VPN con encripción completa, elige el 401E estándar; si operas en un entorno regulado que restringe el cifrado fuerte, el LENC cumple ese requisito sin sacrificar protección de red.
